Where & When
PCCI usually holds dinner meetings on the second Monday of the month, now at the Embassy Suites (directions) in Chesterbrook, PA. Members receive meeting notices by e-mail or view notices on this website.
Format
The meetings begin with socializing around 6:30 pm, followed by dinner at 7:15 pm. Presentations begin at 8 pm and end before 10 pm. Dinner costs a flat fee of $40 and parking is free. Proceeds from the dinner go toward the guest speaker's dinner and general overhead. The balance goes into the PCCI treasury.
The meetings can be a mix of guest speakers or special “Mentor” presentations. The Mentor format is unique and stimulating. In this format, representatives of a company present their ideas and ask for input from the consulting members. Two or three members on a panel prepare formal comments, after which the rest of the group joins in with questions and comments.
The evening begins with a cash bar and a buffet dinner, followed by a speaker of general interest, mostly to the pharmaceutical industry. Meetings generally hold about 30 attendees each month.
Members
The members are friendly and have been helpful to those looking for consulting opportunities, seeking full-time employment, or to those who just want to meet and talk about past and present experiences. Some are retired from active consulting, some are still employed full-time, but many are actively offering their consulting services to the healthcare industry.
PCCI meetings are lively, stimulating and full of spirit. Please feel free to drop in on a meeting or contact president Don Skerrett.
